I’m sure that many of you who are pregnant or have been will recognise the six month stage where suddenly you realise that in three months you’ll be a mother. Well, that’s where I am and it’s now all systems go to get everything ready in time.

But before that, we have the babyshower and gender reveals to discuss. Now I’m not finding out the sex until birth, so there’s no gender reveal for me. But, lots of friends have enjoyed this new part of pregnancy- a trend that has come across from the States which I think really helps bring your partner and friends and family together to celebrate the imminent arrival of the new addition to your family. Whether it’s a blue or pink popping balloon, confetti gun or any of the other weird and wonderful ways parents-to-be are celebrating, it’s lots of fun to watch the millions of videos on social media that come into my feed.

Now a babyshower I am having, my twin sister is arranging this one and it’s a quiet lunch at her house in the garden with 20 of my closet girlfriends and mum. No doubt we’ll have some fun decorations and talk all things babies. I’ve asked friends to buy their favourite children’s book for me instead of baby clothes, this way my baby has a ready-made library for when they arrive. I find that people often buy baby clothes when the baby is actually here and since I don’t know the sex, I think it’s better if we wait on growing the wardrobe.
