FOLLOW MY JOURNEY TO MOTHERHOOD WITH MOKEE -Clothes fit for a baby-

One of the more exciting elements of preparing for the arrival of my baby is the all-important wardrobe. Or maybe, not so important, given that they’re unaware of what they are wearing (!), but it is an aspect that I am enjoying pulling together.

Safe, comfortable, seasonally appropriate and easy to change baby in- these are the basics that I ask from baby clothing, followed by the aesthetic. I’m not finding out the gender, though if I’m really honest I’m hoping for a girl just because of the range of dresses I can put her in. So, I’m steering away from traditional blues and pinks and opting for greens, creams and natural earthy colours, think beige. All of these colours suit all babies and so I can’t go wrong.

Here’s a list of my favourite baby clothing brands and why;

  • Mokee’s Baby Sleeping Bag comes in two sizes- newborn to six months and six months to 18 months. It’s great for all year round and comes in a great range of colours and patterns. It includes two detachable and replaceable front covers, which work for when it’s warmer and colder.
  • Amaia Kids is a London based brand from Spain and HRH The Princess of Wales is a big fan. Their range of clothes are a fun twist on traditional babywear with lots of floral prints and cute collars, all sustainably made in Spain.
  • Bebe Organic is a European brand which is very particular about the materials they source. I really like thesleepsuitsits for babies, all made in lovely neutral colours.
  • La Coqueta is without a doubt the go-to brand for occasion wear for babies and toddlers. Think dressing your toddler up for a wedding or a special birthday party- their pieces are designed to last and be handed down- they are Sunday Best!

Of course I’m shopping at Zara and H&M for everyday babywear but I hope these suggested brands help you pick out extra-special outfits for your bundle of joy.
